MPCTC Approved Course
The Cecil County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting The Left Edge Society, LLC, a precision rifle training company, for a Basic Type 1 Rifle School for Maryland Law Enforcement Officers from October 27th to October 30th, 2026. The class will be conducted at the Cecil County Sheriff Office in Elkton, MD.
We invite your departments participation in this training course and would like for you to only send qualified personnel that are interested in becoming Type 1 Rifle Operators.
Students selected to attend this course need to be in acceptable physical condition. Functional exercise will be part of the class every day.
The student’s department needs to make sure that their student’s rifle is chambered in short action calibers only (No magnums) and zeroed at 100yds. The Cecil County Sheriff’s Office & The Left Edge Society, LLC will not provide any student with rifles or ammunition. The rifle brought needs to be in good working order.
Each student is responsible to ensure 100% attendance, as it is necessary to complete this school. The Type 1 Rifle School will be held Tuesday through Friday, with a minimum of 10 hours each day. Class size will be limited to 12 students.
There will be an attached gear list to this announcement. There is a list for required gear, as well as optional gear. If you have it, bring it.
Some topics will be covered by explanation & discussion due to range limitations.
